SELF-HARM AND RISKY BEHAVIORS IN ADOLESCENCE: CUTTING TO AVOID LOSING THE BOND
Keywords:
adolescence, body, acting out, therapeutic consultationsAbstract
Self-inflicted injuries and risky behaviors are a common clinical issue during adolescence. While they are linked to the psychological processes inherent to this stage of life, they also reveal difficulties in the mental processing of experiences and emotions. We highlight the importance of early detection and appropriate therapeutic intervention from the outset. Using a clinical vignette, we reflect on some of the psychodynamic aspects involved and share our experience in a public institution.
