Abstract

This paper takes as a starting point a device named pass, created by Jacques Lacan in 1967. This device was created to access the institution of that time, the Freudian School of Paris. Known from then on as the Proposal of October 9, 1967, the pass focuses on an analysand —the intern— expressing before others —the interns— his experience with his analyst. In this article, reference is made to the historical context in which Lacan finds himself and the path he follows to propose the pass. At the end, this device and its scope are briefly reviewed.
